PreSchool Classes

(18 months-3 years)

We provide classes for all abilities in this age group, from those who are completely new to lessons, to those who are confident in the water. Children will learn basic swimming skills, alongside water safety, and water confidence. When they are ready, from about age 3, they will progress on to one of our Transitional Mainstream Courses, or make the leap to independent lessons with no parent/guardian in the water.

Why swim with us?

  • Small groups of 6 little ones per lesson (Adult and Child Classes)

  • Lessons with no adult in the water have just 4 per class

  • We offer a free trial and then a 4 week initial enrolment option

  • Sibling discounts available for all children in group lessons (Baby/PreSchool/Mainstream lessons)

  • If you are unable to attend a class one week due to illness or appointments, we will offer a catch up lesson where possible (please note that no refunds are applicable)

  • Easy top up system for lessons and online payment - payments can be made in 4, 6, 9 or 12 weeks at your preference

  • Spectators welcome at all our venues!

  • Collect swimming badges along the way (Swim England stage badges included, all others available for just £2 each)

Water confidence activities and skills are delivered, and children learn to fully embrace the water by singing and splashing, with activities and games built for their development stages. Confident children work on independent movements in the water and leading their own jumps and dives. All nervous swimmers starting, or those who are starting lessons for the first time at this age, are actively kept on the surface until they are ready for more independent work, and your instructor will guide you through this journey towards building splashy, confident children!

Lessons are progressively built to follow the Swim England National Criteria, and range from the Discovery Duckling Awards, through to the Ducking awards. Our instructors work hard to encourage little ones and give them the gift of water confidence. If your little one is not confident in the pool yet, or has not done any swimming before, they will work with you in class, to adapt skills to ensure little ones get the best from their lessons. Please let the office know if they are especially nervous about classes or may be very unsure about the water, so we can help introduce them to the pool in the best environment possible.
